KANSAS CITY, Mo. 鈥?An Independence police officer was struck by a motor vehicle Monday morning on NB M-291 Highway.The officer, driving a motorcycle, stanley tumbler stopped a motorist for a traffic violation and pulled over on the right shoulder of the highway. The crash happened a little before 10 a.m. when another motorist traveling northbound struck both the police motorcycle and the vehicle that was pulled over. The officer was on the passenger side of the vehicle he pulled over and was hit by that car.The impact knocked out the woman in the car the officer pulled over.She was taken to a hospital.The officer suffered injuries to an ankle and an elbow.He was treated at a hospital and released.No word on what charges the woman will face for running into the police motorcycle and the stopped vehicle.鈥?
