SAN DIEGO KGTV 鈥?A 29-year-old man was struck and injured by a car in Pacific Beach early Saturday, according to the San Diego Police Department.Police said it happened in the 1200 Grand Avenue just before 2:00 a.m. The man was running south on the east side of Grand Avenue stanley cup and Everts Street. A 25-year-old man was driving a Honda Accord eastbound on Grand Avenue when the pedestrian ran in front of the car and was hit.The pedestrian was taken to the hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries, police said. Grape Street at about 11 p.m. When the first San Diego Police officer responded, he was able to place handcuffs on the man.As the officer led the man out of traffic, though,witnesses told police the man began to struggle and was taken to the ground by the officer. The man s death was ruled as an in-custody death.During the struggle, the man suffered a cut to the head. AP -- Oregon police say a car thief who found a toddler in the backseat of a stolen vehicle returned and chastised the mother for leaving the child unattended before driving away again.Beaverton police say the woman left the 4-year-old in the unlocked running car Saturday and went into a grocery store about 15 feet away. Minutes later, stanley quencher her car was stolen.Police say the thief returned and berated the woman for leaving her child unattended. The man returned the child and drove away in the stolen vehicle.Police say the woman did nothing illegal.The vehicle was later found but police say they re still searching for the suspect.
