Three teenage boys were wounded when gunfire erupted after a funeral reception for a 15-year-old who was fatally stabbed at his St. Paul high school earlier this month, authorities say. The Minneapolis Star Tribune reports that none of the wounded teens injuries are considered life threatening. St. Paul Police Sgt. Ernster said police apprehended a 16-year-old who was running from the area armed with a modified handgun. Police are trying to determine what his role was. The Department of Justice sided with Asian-American students and their families Thursday in a lawsuitalleging that Harvard University discriminatesbased on race in its admissions process. The case,Students For Fair Admissions, Inc. v. President And Fellows Of Harvard College, was brought to the District Court in Massachusetts by students and parents who believe that the prestigious university s admissions process negatively impacts Asian-American appli salomon cants.The families brought the lawsuit under Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 which requires that public funds, to which all taxpayers of all races [colors, and national origins] contribute air max , not be spent in any fashion which encourages, entrenches, subsidizes jordan or results in racial [color or national origin] discrimination. Since Harvard receives millions in federal funding, the Justice Department weighed in with a statement of interest in the case.Attorney General Jeff Sessions said in a statement, No American should be denied admission to school because of their race. As a recipient of taxpayer dollars, Harvard has a responsibility to conduct its admissions policy without racial discrimination by using meaningful admissions criteria that meet lawful requirements.
